I’m a truck driver from the Bronx who’s routes take me to all different states around the country. I was stopped by a cop in Monroe Michigan for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, which I did try to do but couldn’t in enough time. The last thing I want is something on my driving record that threatens my job and my pay. I hired Derrick George because I had been referred to him by another law office. I didn’t need to meet him in person to work together. We were able to meet and come up with a plan over the phone. He communicated with me on the status of my case each time something happened and he worked magic getting the charge down to going 5 over the limit and a $100 fine. Where do I even begin. Derrick E. George is not just a fantastic lawyer, he is also a top notch honest man. In December of 2017 I had put myself in a very tight spot. I was arrested for a super drunk O.W.I. Now understand, this isn’t just in the .2s or the high .2s. I am talking that I was the highest B.A.C that he has ever seen in his entire career as a lawyer (doing this for as long as he has, with all the experience) that was a HUGE and I mean HUGE slap in the face on my part. To top it off, I was going to be sentenced by one of the toughest, none heart warming, appropriately aggressive judges in one of the toughest courts in Oakland County. To say the least I knew I had some serious consequences coming. However Derrick remained calm, collective, professional and held a strong passion when he took me in as a client. Now he did not sugar coat it, make any promises or make any action or statement that wasn’t true. He worked with me all the way through the 5 month procedure. He made me build a portfolio so strong to make sure that I had the best chance of showing how determined I was to be sober and never have this happen again. He answered questions, checked in with me, did everything in his power to make me look great. My case lasted as long from December 8th 2017 to may 3rd 2018. I was suggested to serve jail time regardless of my progress and work put it in by my Investigation meeting. When at my sentencing he said he doesn’t make miracles happen and to make the best of the outcome. I honestly would have been happy with any sentence I was given, knowing Derrick did the best he could do. DERRICK MADE A MIRACLE HAPPEN! I got off on probation for 12 months supervision, random tests and all. NO JAIL TIME AT ALL!!! I get my license back, keep my job live life like normal while doing what needs to be done for probation. He called shortly after my sentencing and said he will be in touch with me and still work with me while I do my probation. If anybody and I mean anybody needs anything you need to have Derrick E. George be your attorney. I don’t think he knows what bad work ethic even is lol. Thank you Derrick. My life has been benefited greatly with you fighting by my side. I recommend anybody to him. Amazing attorney. Definitely knows what’s best for you in the court room and for your case. He reads all the info about your cases and listens to you and your needs. He has worked wonders on my cases getting me the best due to past history making my cases harder but he knows what he’s doing. I love this guy for making my life a little easier. I had a DUI situation that was a little different because I don’t live in Michigan but got pulled over in this state. Troy to be exact, which I’ve heard is extremely strict and punitive about DUIs. I was nervous about what I was looking at as a worst-case scenario. I couldn’t afford to be detained in Michigan for any reason because I couldn’t lose my job out of state. Derrick had so much experience in this field and especially in the city of Troy. He was able to find a lesser known solution and instead of just being the attorney that shows up and gets whatever punishment is dealt to his client, he worked with the prosecutor and really vouched for me to get a result that was better than what I was hoping for. I came to Mr. George during a very high-anxiety time. I had a multiple-count marijuana and DUI charges (3 misdemeanors) that could have very well ended up in my loss of license-which, as a working professional, i can’t afford to lose. The DUI charge was for a super-drunk BAC and they didn’t include the other two traffic charges. My situation didn’t look good.
